FBC: Firebreak postponed its second major update, Rogue Protocol, to January 2026 and rolled out an in-game voice chat feature on Nov. 19, 2025.
In a post published on the game’s official Steam page, the developer also shared details about a new game mode called Endless Shift, which will be added to the game in the Rogue Protocol update.
In brief, the Endless Shift assignment will require Firebreakers to hold the line for as long as possible inside sealed arenas where waves of enemies grow tougher with every round.
Players will begin each run armed with just the essential tools and weapons. After every wave, players will gather Corruption, a mysterious residue left by vanquished foes, and spend it to unlock upgrades, better weapons, and enhancements, creating a fresh build each time.
Developed by Remedy Entertainment, the game is playable on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S. FBC: Firebreak is both Remedy’s first multiplayer game and its first self-published title.
Happening in the same universe and set six years after the events of 2019’s Control, FBC: Firebreak follows the story of a special unit of soldiers named Firebreak, tasked with clearing the Oldest House of enemies infected by the Hiss. The game is a team-based, player-versus-environment shooter where players can team up in groups of three.
