
A free trial allowing players to experience all major aspects of the third-person shooter with hack-and-slash elements, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, rolled out on Oct. 16, 2025, and will last until Oct. 20, 2025.
Announced via a post on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the game’s publisher, Focus Entertainment, the free trial is available on all platforms where the title is present, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.
The demo gives players a first look at the Campaign: Rain of Terror and Skyfire, PVP modes (except Helbrute Onslaught), and three Operations: Inferno, Decapitation, and Vox Liberatis.
In the free trial, all classes are playable, all weapons are available, and the entire progression reached during the demo run will be carried over to the full game if the user decides to purchase it.
Developed by Saber St. Petersburg and released on Sept. 24, 2024, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 follows the story of Captain Titus as he returns to the Imperium after being severely injured and placed in stasis for 200 years.
As of the time of writing, the sequel to 2011’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 130,995 reviews and an all-time peak of 225,690 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.
While the third part of the series is in the works, as of June 2025, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has reached 7 million players.
