On Oct. 8, 2025, System Era Softworks published a press release via Steam news regarding its upcoming co-op expedition game called Starseeker. The developers also recently held a direct-style stream where they gave fans a glimpse of what the game is supposed to be.
The press release states that the game will focus on discovery, cooperative expeditions and camaraderie. Players will explore the deep space with their friends and “complete planet-wide objectives across a multitude of star systems wielding future tech.”
Players can invite three of their friends to the expeditions. The adventures are timed and the crew is expected to explore, complete objectives, loot and scoot. Players will run into “unique encounters” and dangerous creatures, as well as some precious materials they can nab. Aside from these, players will also encounter alien worlds and creatures, together with the wackiness it brings, such as hazardous flora.
While the game is designed around four-player coop, players have the option to start solo expeditions. However, they will still encounter other players on the station as well as on the planet. “Starseeker is an online game designed from the ground up for squads of four, so going alone can be tougher without a crew to watch your back,” the developers said.
Starseeker is expected to be released in 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch 2.
