The latest entry to the Dying Light series, Dying Light: The Beast, is now out on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players can now return as Kyle Crane on a mission to find The Baron to exact his revenge.
Before its release, the game reached 1 million preorders. Upon reaching the milestone, developers rewarded their fans by releasing the game early by one day on Sept. 18.
The game’s success doesn’t stop there. Dying Light: The Beast is currently celebrating a generally favorable review score from Metacritic. Its peak concurrent player count on Steam has also reached 89,927, showing just how popular the game is.
Additionally, SteamDB marked it as the current No. 1 global top seller, beating Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2. Dying Light: The Beast had also received Steam Deck verification.
Dying Light: The Beast was supposed to be a DLC for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, but it was released as a standalone game after the team had pivoted, saying that short standalones are the future of games. A PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the game are expected to be released later this year.
