On Sept. 17, 2025, SteamDB updated the top sellers for the week ending on Sept. 16, which saw Borderlands 4 usurp Hollow Knight: Silksong’s dominant top one position in the chart. The latter has now fallen to fourth place, while PUBG: Battlegrounds rose up to third.
Second place is still Counter-Strike 2, the game continues to be one of the top sellers of the store, due to its lootboxes and just how much players can sell their skins for. Perhaps, more surprising is the appearance of The Finals in the top 20.
While The Finals has always been overshadowed by its competitions, such as Counter-Strike 2, Apex Legends and PUBG: Battlegrounds, it has shown that it can hang with the goliaths of the franchise as it just shot up 56 places in just one week.
Other games that have jumped more than 20 places in a single week include: Destiny 2, Dying Light: The Beast, Crusader Kings III, The Sims 4, Split Fiction and Limbus Company.
Despite Borderlands 4 being Steam’s top seller currently, there are still problems left to be addressed in the game. Its current review score on Steam is mixed, with players complaining about the game’s optimization.
